TAMS (Tasmanian Association of Municipal Supervisors Inc.) is an incorporated body that has been structured to provide members with a forum for professional networking and fellowship. We are Land Managers, Plant and Machinery Operators, Works Managers, Bushfire Mitigation Coordinators, Fleet Managers, OH&S Officers, Parks and Recreation Managers and Workers, signage manufacturers, civil product suppliers, plant and machinery suppliers and much more.

We create opportunities for our members to impart experiences, knowledge, products, and lessons learnt with one another. In addition opportunities to advance our professional development through accessing local and international awards and study grants, and attending the Tasmanian Annual Works and Engineering Conference.

  • TAMS was formed in 1988 to provide a central organisation of Supervisors associated with Local Government in Tasmania. In 2014 we expanded to include organizations that have links with Local Government, for example, TasWater, Civil Contractors and product suppliers.
  • We operate as a corporate body and currently has members from a range of organisations across the state. We have a memorandum of understanding with the IPWEA (Institute of Public Works Engineering Australasia, Tasmanian Division), each year jointly conducting the Tasmanian Works and Engineering Conference.
  • We encourage attendance at the National Works and Engineering Conference by providing sponsorship for selected members.
  • We hold three Ordinary General Meetings, and one field day per year for members to interact with colleagues, corporate sponsors whilst keeping abreast of new technology, products and services.
  • We offer opportunities for corporate members to sponsor meetings and field days, and provide information on new products and services regularly to a wide cross section of the Local Government community.
